Can you ask for anything better then salted caramel coffee and assorted macaroons at Laduree'.
How about a collection of mirrors by Lin Vautrin?
Or a carved fountain depicting Janus, the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings.
Stroll along the Seine anyone?

Oh, I think the stroll along the Seine would be my favourite, with my lover beside me - as we have done many a time, though we'd probably head to Ladurée afterwards.
Well, first of all the photos are beautiful! Little Edie Beale mentions that she'd be happy in any old rats hole, any rats nest as long as it were in NYC.... well, I would gladly live in a rats hole in Paris. I'd pack my bags and move today!
Thanks for sharing!
All of the above. Sounds like heaven.
I'll have the lot!
Best Wishes
Robert
Michael-
WONDERFUL EVOCATION...of Paris, of Camondo, of interiors, antiques and macaroons.
I can't believe you ordered only four! I trust you brought a box to eat at home...note that they keep for ages.
I keep boxes of Laduree...and treat myself to a dreamy Proustian delight every so often.
Next time try the ORANGE FLOWER (Fleurs d'Oranger) macaroons...they are exquisite.
cheers, DIANE

No doubt, Laduree... alone or in good company!
Oh the Heaven of Laduree!!!
Almost as good but not the same...Mariage Freres
Little Edie had not been to Paris when she made that comment.
I'll take all of the above, please.
what an excellent blog! I feel at home....the hand blocked wallpaper panels are exquisite!
Your B&W photo of the Seine conjures up that nostalgic feeling of Romance in Paris. I hope you had a fantastic time, no doubt paying much attention to the architecture. Do you plan to paint any of the buildings you saw? David.
Paris at it's best, your photos take me there. Kathy.
I found a charming fountain tucked away in a dead end alley in the Marais. Working on the under-drawing as we speak.
